Greece was part of Macedonia and then with the blessing of the international community Macedonia koeficjent between Greeks, Bulgarians and Serbs. One of the largest territorial injustices and evils in history.
One of the hard evidence is the Bible:

1.Acts 16:6
[ Paul’s Vision of the Man of Macedonia ] Paul and his companions traveled throughout the region of Phrygia and Galatia, having been kept by the Holy Spirit from preaching the word in the province of Asia.
